circular, the sides of the hinged lid decorated with chased laurel-framed ovals alternating with rose gold flowerheads on a sablé ground, bright-cut gold two-coloured gold borders, maker’s mark, charge and discharge mark of Jean-Baptiste Fouache (1774-1780), Paris date letter M for 1775, in an associated velvet-lined leather case stamped: ‘Au Vieux Paris / Bonnefoy & Cie / 4, Rue de la Paix'
