rectangular, the front applied with a rose-cut diamond set glass oval over a painted partridge on paper on a silk backing, crowned with an inlaid hardstone ribbon embellished with painted foiled paste pansies, forget-me-nots and other flowers interspersed with bloodstone leaves, on a polished gold ground, within inlaid Schlottwitz agate borders interlaced with green leaves, the lid centred with gold lettering reading: Souvenir on a white ground, the reverse similarly decorated with a painted flower vase against silk to centre of base and and an inlaid Zellenmosaik trophy of love in lapis lazuli, all sides also inlaid with sous verre painted flowers, agate and quartz to top, the interior fitted with a gold pencil holding, the writing slips now removed, apparently unmarked,
