2 volumes in one, folio (388 x 277mm.), woodcut initials and headpieces, 54 (of 64) and 60 (of 61) double-page engraved plates, contemporary limp vellum, lacking 11 plates, inscriptions erased from title-page, 6 plates frayed at edges and laid down; sold as a collection of plates not subject to return


FIRST EDITIONS. Androuet du Cerceau's work contains numerous detailed views and plans of various châteaux, some of which no longer exist or have been substantially altered since the sixteenth century.
