Description

9-inch enamel dial signed Lepaute Hger. Du Roi and to the rear Barbezat, with centre seconds and finely pierced and engraved gilt hands, the iron birdcage weight driven movement with polished steel movement bars, high count train, pinwheel escapement with Harrison's maintaining power, unusual beat adjustment on the crutch, the pendulum with steel rod and lenticular bob, the case with concave sided cresting surmounted by an urn above a ribbon-tied laurel wreath, glazed trunk door and panelled plinth, the whole inlaid with pewter stringing and applied with gilt-bronze leaf and beaded mounts,
