Ex. Collection of R. Borgomanero
A gorgeous specimen from the Sapucaia Mine that is so rightly famous for its rose quartz. This piece consists of two twinned prismatic quartz crystals — one shading from clear to smoky quartz, the other from smoky to milky quartz — ringed on one side by a flowing tutu of rose quartz. Nicknamed "The Pink Tutu," this specimen evokes the iconic image of Marilyn Monroe holding her dress above a windy subway grate, although in this case the white dress has been replaced by a billowing pink tutu. This specimen was mined in the late 1960s and was once part of the important local mineral collection of R. Borgomanero.
