Description

A set of voided velvet window hangings, French or English, Neo Regency, 19th century, each light weight hanging, of emerald green velvet with exuberant design of stylised baskets of foliage, arabesques, arches and scrolling ribbon, with passementerie braid or fringing to inside edge and lower edge of each hanging (each approximately 312cm high, 70cm wide), with two matching box pelmets (each 62cm high, 176cm wide), together with four later plain apple green watered silk curtains, each comprised of two joined vertical panels, heavy weight, light cream cotton lining (each approximately 310cm high, 106cm wide across the top)


By repute formerly at Hardwicke Hall, Derbyshire and then at Roche Court, Hampshire.
