A Mughal-style celadon jade 'chrysanthemum' dish

Qing dynasty, 19th century

清十九世紀 青玉雕痕都斯坦式盤


the low rounded sides thinly carved, the exterior with two bands of stylized meandering floral scroll above two rows of radiating fluted petals resembling a chrysanthemum flower, the interior left plain save for a double circle incised at the center, the translucent pale green stone with a patch of russet at the rim 


Diameter 7 ⅜ in., 18.6 cm 

Collection of Mrs. Walter N. Rothschild (1896-1987).

Gifted to the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, in 1963 (acc. no. 63.6.70).
