The crest and motto are those of the British industrialist and politician, Sir Weetman Dickinson Pearson Bt., (1856-1927) of Paddockhurst, Worth, Sussex, who in 1910 was created Baron Cowdray of Midhurst. He was further advanced to Viscount Cowdray in 1917 (see lot 60).
