Gifted by the Artist to Denis Mitchell, and thence by descent to the present owner
Alexander MacKenzie was one of the first artists to move from St. Ives to Newlyn on the South Coast of Cornwall. Alex was a life-long friend of Denis Mitchell and a frequent visitor to his studio which he shared with John Wells.
The present work hung for years in the dining room of Denis's house La Pietra in Newlyn.
