painted with the imperial double-headed eagle, the crucified saint and flowers, with gilding along the upper edge of the sides and on the rocaille-style four feet, marked under base with crowned cypher for Alexander II

Inspired by the most prominent Imperial Russian order - an amazing example of which is to be offered in our 5th July Treasures sale, having been presented to Prince Friedrich Carl Nikolaus of Prussia - the present salts are part of a larger dinner service crafted by the Imperial Porcelain Factory for the Order of St Andrew the First Called.
