Description
Inglenook, RUBICON, Red Table Wine, Rutherford 2005
Highlights:
This wine is a blend of 98.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1.5% Petit Verdot, aged 22 months in new French oak barrels.
The 2005 vintage was marked by a long, cool growing season punctuated by intermittent rain through mid-summer. Severe thinning resulted in fully ripe fruit, that after fermentation in oak tanks, showed tremendous depth and a supple structure.
At 17 years of age, the bouquet is incredibly focused, showing notes of forest floor and cedar. On the palate the wine is cohesive, with flavors suggesting ripe black fruits. The finish is long and well-structured. In a word? Irresistible.
