Reproduced as a colour plate in The Ingoldsby Legends, 1907 (“A Lay of St Dunstan”), plate 8. 


The Ingoldsby Legends were a collection of myths, legends and ghost stories, first published in 1837 by Richard Harris Barham, under the moniker Thomas Ingoldsby of Tappington Manor. They were extremely popular, and were published in numerous editions.
