A pair of Indian Colonial silver entree dishes and stands, Robert Hamilton, Calcutta, circa 1812


Rectangular with gadrooned borders, the covers with bud finials, the warming stands on four lion paw feet and with turned wood handles, the covers engraved 'A token of esteem from the Officers of the 1st Bengal Volr Battn to Captn F. Balston Commander of the ship Charlton for his kind attention to them during the passage from the Isle of Mauritius to Calcutta 10th Feby 1812',
