Carter Bryant was selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of the University of Arizona. Already an exceptionally talented defender, Bryant projects as a valuable young piece for a Spurs team that has quickly risen to the top of the Western Conference. During his rookie season, he competed in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest and finished in second place.

Bryant played one season at Arizona, averaging 6.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game across 37 appearances.
