A jewelled gold and enamel Royal presentation snuff box, probably Turin or Geneva, circa 1850


rectangular with rounded corners, the lid applied with the crowned diamond-set cipher of Vittorio Emmanuele II, King of Piedmont and Sardinia (1820-1878), on an oval translucent blue enamel plaque over sun-ray engine turning, on an engine-turned ground overlaid with acanthus-hung geometrical strapwork, the sides and base similarly decorated, the base further centred with the engraved Royal coat of arms of the Kingdom of Italy, apparently unmarked,
