Produced between 1958 and the 1970s, the Reference 3417 holds the distinction of being the manufacture's first serially produced anti-magnetic wristwatch. The reference was developed during an era of increasing exposure to magnetic fields in both professional and everyday environments. Initially powered by the calibre 12-AM 400 and later by the upgraded calibre 27-AM 400, the movement was housed within a protective soft iron inner case designed to shield it from magnetic interference. Further enhancing its performance, the movement employed a gold lever and was enclosed within a case offering both water-resistant and dustproof qualities, making the reference 3417 one of the most advanced and practical wristwatches of its time.
Beyond its technical significance, the Reference 3417 is equally celebrated for its understated yet highly distinctive aesthetic. Its design combines clean, functional lines influenced by Bauhaus principles with the signature “Amagnetic” designation on the dial, a subtle reminder of the watch's pioneering purpose.
