A gold-mounted Japanese Imari porcelain cup and saucer with a gold spoon and fitted case

the cup and saucer mounts, Jean Gaillard, Paris, 1727-32; the spoon 1717-22; the porcelain late 17th/early 18th century


The porcelain painted in underglaze blue, iron red, green and gold with flowers and prunus branches, the cup with plain gold interior and foot, the saucer with a plain gold rim, the spoon with a feather and flower design, the tip of the stem with bust in profile, housed in a kingwood case with parquetry inlay in the lid.

Height of cup 7cm., 2 3/4in.; diameter of saucer 15.5cm., 6in.
