Patek Philippe is celebrated for its legendary perpetual calendar wristwatches, which rank among the most coveted timepieces in the market today. From the first serialized reference, the 1526, introduced in 1941, to the pioneering self-winding reference 3448, and the iconic classic 3940, these models have shaped the DNA of the reference 5320G, unveiled at Baselworld in 2017.
Its warm ivory-hued lacquered dial exudes vintage charm, complemented by luminous syringe hands for enhanced legibility. The applied luminous white gold Arabic numerals, are accented by additional luminous dots at each hour, ensuring optimal visibility. Staying true to Patek Philippe’s signature dial configuration, the layout features apertures for the day and month at 12 o’clock, while the moon phase display and date sub-dial sit harmoniously at 6 o’clock. Flanking the date sub-dial, a leap year indicator appears on the right, with a day/night indicator positioned on the left—enhancing both functionality and symmetry in this timeless design.
The three-tiered, stepped lugs—reminiscent of the 1940s chronometer reference 2405—lend the watch an Art Deco elegance. This particular example is offered directly from the original owner with its full suite of accessories and remains in excellent. The reference 5320G is a masterful tribute to Patek Philippe’s mid-20th-century icons, seamlessly bridging past and present in a timeless expression of horological excellence.
