Hishikawa Sori III (active circa 1797-1813)
Three surimono depicting bijin
Edo period, late 18th – early 19th century
each a woodblock print, privately issued; each with collector's seal of Gerhard Pulverer to verso, and comprising:
- Oharame and ox, embellished with metallic pigment, signed Sori ga (Pictured by Sori)
- Young woman picking from a branch, signed Sori ga (Pictured by Sori), circa 1802
- Woman nursing her child beside a stream, a further woman beside her carrying a basket of herbs, embellished with silver pigment, signed Hishikawa Sori ga (Pictured by Hishikawa Sori)
Each horizontal kokonotsugiriban: each approx. 13.4 x 18.7 cm., 5¼ x 7⅜ in.
