Anonyme, Parodie du chapitre trente-quatre du conte de Genji, époque Edo, XIXe siècle

Gerhard Pulverer (b. 1930)

In the thirty-fourth chapter of the Tale of Genji, Spring Shoots I, the courtier Kashiwagi, Genji's rival at court, falls in love during a kemari match when he glimpses Genji's new wife through a bamboo blind that has been pushed open by her pet cat. Here, the scene is parodied with the sudare blind lifting to reveal Genji's new wife with a lover.
