Sotheby’s is proud to present this All-Star themed basketball signed by various members of the 2011 NBA All-Star Game including numerous Hall of Famers.
In a hotly contested matchup, the Western Conference defeated the Eastern Conference 148-143 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers received All-Star MVP honors with 37 points and 14 rebounds. It marked Bryant’s 4th career All-Star MVP award – tied with Bob Pettit for the most all-time – and the All-Star trophy would later be renamed in his honor.
The signatures on the ball include that of Tim Duncan, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Pau Gasol, Paul Pierce, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Garnett, Gregg Popovich, Kevin Durant, Deron Williams, Blake Griffin, Al Horford, Manu Ginobili, Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, Kevin Love, Doc Rivers, Rajon Rondo, Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, and Russell Westbrook along with NBA coaches Armond Hill, Roy Rogers, Lawrence Frank, Kevin Eastman, and Tyronn Lue.
A letter from James Spence Authentication in regards to the signatures is included with this lot.
