Lacquer cigarette case
circa 1930
The rectangular case decorated with an interlocking geometric motif composed of orange and black lacquer inlaid with varying shades of cream to grey eggshell, measuring approximately 90 x 83mm, signed Paul Brandt, numbered, maker's mark, fitted case stamped Paul Brandt, inscribed 'Offert par Monsieur Paul BRANDT, Critérium du Chic Féminin, Le Touquet, 21 Juillet 1930'.
By family tradition, this cigarette case was a present in 1930 from Paul Brandt to the family of the current owner, and has stayed in the family ever since.
