Description
Constantinus Lascaris
De octo partibus orationis [and other works]. (Florence: Filippo Giunta, November 1515)
4to (214 x 155mm.), parallel Latin and Greek text, woodcut printer's device on N4v, with the four leaves containing Aldus's short introduction to Hebrew at the end, later calf-backed boards, occasional light foxing or staining, small defect at head of title-page
A crisp copy with good margins and some deckle edges. This is a reprint of the Aldine editions of [c. 1503] and 1512 (see lot 112 for the latter).
The final section containing the introduction to Hebrew is a letter by letter reprint of the 1512 Aldine text, and was printed separately from the rest of the volume, as can be seen by the different typeface and paper stock. It does not appear in all copies and is not included in the register.
