Condition

Oil on canvas, lined. There is a loss near the center of the upper edge and a smaller loss below that, to the right of the subject's head. Surface dirt and dust. Craquelure across the surface. There is a diagonal line of wrinkinling that extends across the subject's chest. Under UV light, there is an old green varnish, over which there are areas of inpainting, especially in the subjects face, armor, and the curtain but also scattered across the picture plane.
