RESULTS
The Modern & Post-War British Art auction achieved £10,481,500. The sale was led by a First World War masterpiece from 1914 by C.R.W. Nevinson, which sold for £1.9 million, an auction record for the artist and quadruple the previous record achieved last year. A further highlight was a recently-unveiled work by Sir Winston Churchill, which sold for £357,000. It is the last work he ever painted and was seen here for the first time since it was gifted to the artist’s bodyguard.
