Reference 3565 was produced for only two years from 1968 to 1971. A small series of this model was made by special order for IOS, the Investors Overseas Services mutual fund founded by Bernie Cornfeld and presented to their best clients, the members of the "IOS Million Dollar Association". Mr Cornfeld, renowned for an eccentric personality, moved from the United States to France in 1955, and then set up IOS headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland in the 1960s. The empire crashed in 1973 resulting in the arrest and trial for mismanagement for Cornfield, for which he was later acquitted.
The special belt-like bracelets with buckles were made especially for this reference. This example is in excellent overall condition, and furthermore, is accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming date of manufacture in 1969, and its original yellow gold bracelet..
