A teapot of the same form, painted with flower sprays in a similar manner, is illustrated in Peter Walton, Creamware and other English Pottery at Temple Newsam House Leeds, p. 178, cat. no. 722, where it is described as having a greenish yellow glaze similar to the present example and is attributed to Cockpit Hill, Derby. Another similar teapot painted with cherries and attributed to Cockpit Hill was sold at Sotheby's London, February 21, 1989, lot 360.
