Etching and drypoint, 1651, a very good, atmospheric impression of the fifth state (of six), New Hollstein's fifth state (of ten), printing with a few touches of burr and selectively wiped tone leaving a film of ink on the subject's face and above his hat, showing slight wear in places on the chest and left arm, framed

Ex coll. Albertina, Vienna (L. 5d); according to an inscription on the frame, this impression was in the collection of Albert Casimir (1738-1822), Duke of Saxony-Teschen, son-in-law of the German Empress Maria Theresa. This collection was transferred in 1919 to the Albertina.
