The canvas has not been lined and has been safely attached to a keyed wooden stretcher which may be of later date. There are some isolated, fine lines of hairline craquelure which appear to be stable. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals some minor, small areas of retouching in the sky, one small spot in the hat of the man in the upper right and one small spot in the left leg of the man in the foreground. Otherwise, the main composition appears to be virtually untouched. Some strips of uneven fluorescence are also visible along the right and left framing edges. However, these appear to be due to uneven residual varnish.
Overall, this work is in good condition and is ready to hang.
Presented in a dark, floating frame.
Colours in reality are less saturated and softer than in the catalogue illustration.
