raised on four paneled legs, center engraved with a spread-wing eagle above inscription "Presented to Capt. Alexr Thompson of the Ship Eagle by a Select Number of his Passengers, Who on a Voyage across the Atlantic in the Spring of 1802 owed much of their comforts & pleasing accommodation to his Skill, care and Humanity. New York 24th May 1802."
