Condition

The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The case with minor sign of surface wear, hardly visible with the naked eye. The case back with tiny scruff mark from the bracelet. The clasp with sign of surface wear. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. The Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse design was first introduced in 1968. The case proportions relied on the ancient Greek “golden section” ratio of 1 / 1.6181, heralded as the purest and most artistic way to depict harmonious shapes.  The present lot comes with its Certificate of Origin dated 1982 and is preserved is near new condition.
