Small oblong folio (216 x 270mm.), 24 photographs (198 x 250mm., or the reverse), corner mounted on thick card, recto only, each with English manuscript caption, printed label explaining the production of the photographs on first card mount, contemporary blue cloth, lacking a few corner mounts

A good collection of portraits and views from Sarawak. The views include: Mount Santubong, Ulu Balleh, Pasang Rapids (Belaga River), Pelagus Rapids, Kafit, Belepeh River, Matang Mountain, Batang Lupar among others. "These photos were printed and enlarged, without electric light, in Kapit in the years 1948 to 1950 by Pui Siak Kong, a dentist. His dark room had a clear glass window in the roof with a black curtain over it" (printed label).
