THE RARE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE ISSUE OF THE MOST PROMINENT PALESTINIAN NEWSPAPER OF ITS DAY, INCLUDING A PUBLISHED LETTER BY EINSTEIN. The Arabic version was founded in 1911, while the English edition ran from September 1929 until May 1932. Present in this volume are year 1, issues 1–51 and year 2, issues 1–33, 35–39 and 41–50. The newspaper is notable, among other things, for the publication of a letter by Albert Einstein (1 February 1930): “I deplore the sad events of last August [the Palestine riots] not alone for revealing human nature in its lowest form, but also for the reason that they alienated the two peoples from each other and for a time, rendered difficult the access to one another which nevertheless must be found”.
