拍品資料及來源

A MAGNIFICENT ETHNOGRAPHIC SOURCE FOR THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE. The work is befitting its dedication to Tsar Alexander II on the one thousandth anniversary of the foundation of the dynasty at Novgorod by the three Rus princes, Rurik, Sineus and Truvor. The work is arranged on ethnographic lines with plates showing the costume of all the nationalities which made up the Russian Empire from Congress Poland to Alaska, and from the Arctic to Central Asia where the independent Khanates were still in the process of being assimilated. It is arranged in five divisions: I. Peuples indo-europeens (23 plates); II. Peuples du Caucase (6 plates); III. Peuples ouralo-altaiques (27 plates); IV. Peuples de la Siberie Orientale (4 plates); V. Peuples del'Amerique Russe (2 plates).
