Château Pichon Longueville, Lalande 1983 Pauillac, 2ème Cru Classéu. 2bn, damp affected and bin soiled labels of which 1 peeling from the right, slightly worn capsulesIn 2018, an immensely aromatic nose, almost pine forests. It is still crimson red in colour. The Pichon Lalande texture is there on the palate, with velvet and brambles. This does not have the ripeness of the 1982, but what personality and attack. Always one of the best 1983s, avoiding the rot evident in some Pauillacs (spraying at the right time was vital). Blueberries and a touch of orange zest.
