  • 29 cm the corpus, 11 3/8  in.; 59,5 x 30,5 cm the frame, 3 3/8 x 12 in.

Condition

Surface dirt, notably in the crevices, and stable hairline splitting visible in some places, consistent with the material. The two arms were carved separately with a joint visible to both shoulders. The Crown of Thorns is missing. The bone cartouche has been reattached with traces of glue visible. The very large red amber element with minor dents and scratches visible in some places. The tortoiseshell marquetry with surface dirt and a few scratches and small losses visible in some places. Some tortoiseshell elements appear to have been retouched with breaks visible. The ebony marquetry and ebonised wood frame with a few dents notably alonf the edges. Two turned ebonised wood feet are missing. An old label with the number "45" in black ink is under the base.
