Lucrecia's pain-contorted face is comparable to that of Weiditz' Cleopatra in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nuremberg (inv. no. PLO 2806). Weiditz was a painter, sculptor and itinerant medallist from Strasbourg who was active at the court of Charles V, in Spain, the Rhineland and in Flanders.
