A very similar pair of candelabras was auctioned at Christie's in New York on 26 April 2007, lot 108. Presented as probably Russian work from the early 19th century via an analogy with a pair of candelabra with an identical patinated bronze female Antiquity figure (consult K.A. Soloviev, Russian decorative arts of the XVIII-XIX centuries, Moscow, 1950, No. 167). This model also evokes projects by the ornemanist, Jean-Guillaume Moitte (1746-1810) made for the silversmith Robert-Joseph Auguste, held in the Odiot archives.
