The illustration is accurate. Good overall condition. There are some chips to the gilding which is rubbed throughput as visible on the illustration. A few minor restoration to the carving. Nice marble top. Very impressive and rare design.

This console illustrates perfectly the 'rocaille symétrisé' that breaks with the free exuberance of the Rocaille style and announce classical revival. However, the sculptor realized a transgression in regards to a perfect symmetry by partially covering the vase with a 'naturalist' garland.
