Extended Description and Condition Report Comprising; a Indo-Portuguese quilted saffron yellow silk coverlet, for European market, 17th/18th century, (approximately 257cm and 225cm) with two joins and a glazed linen backing on verse, several dark surface stains, seams opening on the outer edges, and some splits and holes on the outer edges as well; a saffron yellow foliate embroidered Indo/Portuguese/English cotton coverlet, 18th century, (approximately 249cm by 211cm) with a muslin backing, possibly from the late eighteenth century, faded all over with some surface marks and discolouration, the left section of the outer border has lost the embroidery and is with underdrawings only and also has a small split at the edge with muslin lining is curling back and lacking, probably made in India (Bengal) for export to English market; a polychrome floral embroidered ivory ground quilted coverlet, English, 18th century (approximately 176cm by 150cm) embroidered in floral designs in shades of yellow and salmon with braiding on all four outer edges, composed of three panels attached with two horizontal joins, very distressed condition with multiple little and big holes all over the surface and very prominent staining especially to the bottom left quadrant; an ivory ground quilted bed hanging panel (approximately 148cm by 60cm), the lower third has no quilting, made of beige silk with one join in the middle, tasseled. The quilted section is 39cm in height and has three joins, embroidered with floral motifs in shades of salmon and yellow, and braiding on the shorter vertical edges; together with another matching hanging(approximately 155cm by 41cm) which has three vertical joins, embroidered with floral motifs in shades of yellow and salmon, and braiding along the two longer horizontal edges; plus another matching hanging (approximately 191cm by 42cm) with one wavy join roughly around the centre and modern lining on reverse, embroidered in floral motifs in shades of salmon and yellow, and braiding on the two longer horizontal edges. (Due to the similarity in colour and embroidery, the three pelmets are likely to accompany the quilted coverlet.
