circular, the lid applied with a jugate wax portrait of King Joao VI of Portugal (1767–1826) and his consort Queen Carlotta, under domed glass, gold frame, apparently unmarked

the portrait with substantial cracks and losses to the wax, the gold rim with dents throghout, small chips to the tortoiseshell
