comprising: a pair of ice-pails and covers, a pair of bottle-coolers, a further pair of bottle-coolers with fixed pierced dividers, a quatrefoil sugar bowl and cover on fixed stand, four shell-shaped dishes, four cushion-shaped dishes, three shaped-oval dishes, and twenty-five plates (46)

Condition

Overall in good order and of good appearance and a useful quantity and size of service. A mixture of soft and hard paste porcelain pieces. In more detail: A pair of ice pails and covers, hardpaste, 24cm. high [including cover]: date codes for 1786 and 1788, both with liners lacking, the slightly later example cracked across the base, both marks with crowned interlaced L and painter's mark A pair of bottle coolers, hardpaste, 13cm. high: probably from a later Paris manufacture, good condition, slight rubbing to extremities, 12.5cm. high A further pair of bottle coolers with fixed pierced dividers, seau a liqueur, both hardpaste, 12 cm. high, 31cm. wide: generally in good order, the first painted with interlaced L in blue with date letters for 1779 and painter's mark, the other with interlaced crown L mark in purple above decorator's mark and date letter for 1776, the pink and blue enamels of one example have flaked A quatrefoil sugar bowl and cover on fixed stand, soft-paste: with date letter for 1769, overall in good condition but worn to the rim of the stand and sugar bowl, firing crack to the sugar bowl approx. 2cm. long Four shell-shaped dishes, soft-paste: all with blue interlaced L mark, three with date letters for 1769, 1788?, and 1790, one has a stress crack extending from the handle and scratches to the bowl, the reminder with scratches to the bowls Four cushion-shaped dishes, soft-paste: all in good condition with a little bit of rubbing and scratching to the interior, three with date letters for 1789 and by the same artist, initial 'JB', the fourth with date letter for 1790 Three shaped-oval dishes, hardpaste: all in good order, all with date letters for 1790 and the same painter's mark, initial 'HM,' one dish with shallow rim chip approx. 1cm. wide and twenty-five plates, soft-paste, 24.5cm.diameter: generally in good order, one cracked and riveted, three plates without date letters [one with rim chip, one with kiln splitting, one in good order; two plates with date letter for 1763, both of which are in generally good order; one plate with date letter for 1776, generally in good order but with a firing crack to the rim; two with date letter for 1780, one has two small rim chips; one plate with date letter for 1781, generally in good order; four plates with date letter for 1782, one is cracked and riveted, one with a small chip to the underside of the rim, the remaining two in generally good order; three with date letter for 1784, all by the same painter, generally in good order; one plate with date letter for 1785, by the same painter of the previous year, generally in good order; five plates with date letter for 1786, all by the same painter, all in reasonably good condition, one has a glaze over the foot rim; two plates with date letter of 1788, by the same painter, one in good order, one has a small rim chip; one plate with date letter for 1790, by the same artist as the previous year, in good order.
