Tyrannosaurus Rex, (from the Latin Rex, meaning "king"), colloquially known as T-Rex, was one of the largest carnivores of all time. A theropod dinosaur belonging to the Tyrannosauridae family, it lived during the Maastrichtien stage of the late Cretaceous period, around 68-66 million years ago, in what is now western North America.
