Charlotte, Lady Maynard (neé Bishopp) was born in 1731. She was the daughter of Sir Cecil Bishopp, 6th Bt. and Hon. Anne Boscawen. She married Sir William Maynard, 4th Bt., son of Sir Henry Maynard, 3rd Bt., on 31 August 1752 but died only ten years later on 16 May 1762. The engraving to the underside of the Kandler candlestick corroborates this date. Her portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds can be found in the Hunterian Museum at the University of Glasgow.
