This particular view of the Grand Canal with the Rialto Bridge finds its source in Canaletto, who painted this bend in the canal from the beginning of his career, as early as 1725.1  The view is from the north, with the Fondaco dei Tedeschi at left, and the Palazzo dei Camerlenghi as well as the Fabbriche Vecchie di Rialto are at right.
