This drawing was always considered to be the design, in reverse, for Jacques de Gheyn's print after Bloemaert.1  Another version of the same drawing, not circular in format, like the print, but with the outlines indented for transfer, is, however, now considered to be the prime version.2   See Hollstein, loc. cit., and Filedt Kok, loc. cit.
