Condition

Please note that images of lots 273 and 274 have been inverted in the printed catalogue (but correctly illustrated in the e-catalogue and in the pdf print catalogue available on our website). Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down and sandwiched between glass and backing board. The lower edge is unevenly cut. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There are two horizontal creases to the upper part of the right edge and to the centre of the left edge. There are some humidity marks in places, notably to the centre of the composition and to the upper right quadrant away from the composition. There are a few hairline lines of craquelure, with associated tiny paint losses, most predominately in the gouache blue pigment. This work is in overall good condition.
