All marks clear to underside apart from the maker's mark which is very rubbed and only partially visible. The inside cover struck with town mark only. Very nice heavy gauge. Light wear to cover engraving. Very nice condition overall.

The arms are those of Tollemache for Lionel, 4th Earl of Dysart (1708-1770), who in 1729 married Grace (d. 1755), eldest daughter of John Carteret, Earl Granville (1690-1763).
