Condition

The canvas is original. There is some minor reticulation in the white pigment throughout, predominantly in the upper third and towards the left edge. There are also some very faint stretcher bar marks along the upper and lower edges and along the left edge. There is some very minor surface dirt with some possible minor discolouration to the varnish and a few specks of staining. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is held within a carved and reeded wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
