A PARCEL-GILT COPPER ALLOY FIGURE OF VAJRABHAIRAVA Tibeto-Chinese, Qing 18th Century
the buffalo-headed protector deity with his consort standing in fierce alidhasana on an oval throne, the faces and hair with traces of cold gold and polychromy, the primary face of the yidam with three bulging eyes and bared fangs, wearing a skull crown with flaming red hair streaming upwards, his thirty-four arms holding various ritual objects with the primary arms of the yidam and consort holding kartrika and kapalas, both adorned in the six Tantric bone ornaments and trampling on deities, animals and beasts
